Our pension costs are one of the biggest pieces of our state budget and they are escalating rapidly. There is no doubt that the current system is unsustainable and without reform our pension systems will go broke. Pension reform will remain one of my top priorities and I will continue working with both sides of the aisle to come to a fair, equitable compromise that will move Illinois forward.”
